Getting All Twitchy.
While passing
through St. John's Road Cemetery, I spotted a pair of green
woodpeckers swooping through the air.
This wasn’t my first sighting of the feathered duo; they’ve been a fixture there for years. It was, however, the first time I’ve seen them in quite a while.
They didn’t hang about (a woodpecker shows no respect for the Sabbath). If I didn't know they lived there, they would have passed unseen.
Luckily for me, I was paying attention. Or so I thought. Perhaps they were an aerial decoy; pulling focus so another, rarer species could skulk by.
I bet I missed the Hitchin Yeti.
